We’ve all been there… Picking out the best mattress in 2025 is just so hard. You have to take into account a lot of things… firmness, materials, design, and many more. In this post, I want to open a discussion… I want to hear your thoughts on how to choose the best mattress for you.

First things first, materials. What the mattress is made of. Why? Because it can greatly affect your sleep. Each type of material has different functions and can affect the body differently. There’s memory foam, latex foam, and coils.

Memory foam is the most common among mattresses, it’s basically the OG of mattresses. All-foam mattresses are considered traditional and are known for their body contouring and pressure relief. However, memory foam is known to retain heat which can lead to overheating. So it’s kind of a NO NO for hot sleepers. BUT a good way to counter this is by infusing the mattress with cooling gel.

For the ECO-CONSCIOUS, latex foam is commonly recommended. It is also more firm compared to memory foam but still provides proper pressure relief and is much cooler. Since latex foams are more responsive, they may not work well for light sleepers as it’s more bouncy.

Coils are regularly paired with memory foam or latex foams for that balance of cushion and support. Innerspring coils primarily provide support, stability, and motion isolation. They are also known to promote airflow since there are spaces in between the coils.

Different sleepers require a different level of firmness: plush, relaxed-firm, medium-firm, firm, and extra firm. Plush is considered the softest and the most compatible with side sleepers. It gives a nice cloud-like cushioning and pressure relief on sensitive points.

Relaxed firm teeter between soft and firm but leans more on the plush side. It provides pressure relief with a little bit of support. Side and back sleepers enjoy this firmness.

Medium firm is similar to relaxed-firm but this one leans more on the firmer side. This is considered the universal firmness as it can cater to most sleeping positions. It’s the ultimate firmness! Anyone can use this.

Firm mattresses are the ā€œhardā€ mattresses. They’re best in promoting spinal alignment and even weight distribution. This is great for back and stomach sleepers as they need the most support. Extra firm is the highest form of firmness. This is exclusive to stomach and heavy sleepers since it has a strong support.

It’s also nice to look for a mattress that can help you sleep nice and cool during the night. There are plenty of ways to help mattresses with temperature regulation… covers, cooling gels, perforated latex, or pocketed coils. BUT you see, cooling technology can also cause the pricing of the mattress to go a little bit higher.

And if you have a partner, or share the bed with someone or a pet, you need to check how well the mattress absorbs movement. You don’t want to wake up to your partner’s restlessness in the middle of the night, do you?

Other factors like trial periods, warranties, and return policies are equally important too.

Today, I’ll be talking about the Helix Midnight Luxe and why I think this is the best mattress.

The Helix Midnight luxe is a 13.5 inches high profile mattress. It’s a hybrid design of memory foam and coils. It’s CertiPUR-US certified and GREENGUARD Gold. The mix of memory foam is a nice balance of plush and firmness creates a medium plush firmness. This type of firmness is rated 5.5 out of 10. GREAT for all sleeping positions.

Side sleepers can appreciate the pressure relief. Back sleepers have enough lumbar support from the wrapped coils. Stomach sleepers can sleep with the mattress supporting their hips and shoulders.

However, heavier sleepers might want a firmer option as the mattress might not be able to support more than 300lbs.

Hot sleepers can enjoy the TENCEL cover. It’s breathable and adds an extra plush feel. But if you really want EXTRA COOLING, you can upgrade to the GLACIOTEX cover. This cooling cover has fibers with high thermal conductivity to quickly draw away heat from your body while you sleep. The Copper Gel Memory foam is another layer that adds to the overall cooling effect.

The motion isolation of the Midnight Luxe I must say, is excellent. So like I said, if you share the bed, this feature really matters.

The price starts at $1,099 for a twin size bed which can be considered pretty pricey. BUT considering that it comes with a lifetime warranty and a generous 100-night trial period on top of its premium materials, I think it’s pretty fair.

It may cost you a big sum one time but if you really think about it, it can save you a lot more (and lesser hassle!!!) in the long run. Why? Because with its high-quality materials, it will surely last you for a LONG time.

Cheap mattresses may save you some today but in a few years time, it will start showing signs of wear and tear, sagging, and whatnot. In the end, you’ll be replacing it in no time.

Plus you’ll really know that it’s worth it because verified customers have shared their love for the Midnight Luxe too. They say that it’s the best investment, they sleep better, and they wake up with no more pains! So yes, this Helix Midnight Luxe mattress is definitely your best purchase this 2025.

So what about you, what do you think is the best mattress? Have you tried the Helix Midnight Luxe? Let me know in the comments.
