Hey everyone. I just moved into my first apartment and I'm trying to furnish it on a tight budget. I don’t want a bulky bed and really like the idea of a floor bed frame. I want it simple, low to the ground, and space-saving. I’ve seen a few online but would love some advice from people who’ve actually built one.

Can anyone here teach me how to make a floor bed frame? I’m not super handy but I’m willing to learn. Any beginner-friendly tips or step-by-step tips??

I made one with some cheap wood from Home Depot. Just a simple frame and a few boards across for support.

Did you screw it straight into the boards or use brackets?

just screws. It’s holding up fine. I used a drill and that’s pretty much about it

You can skip slats if you use a big flat board. That’s what I did and it works ok

Do you get any mold under the mattress? I heard that can happen.

Nah I lift it up once in a while to let air through. No problems so far hehe

If you don’t have tools, sometimes Facebook Marketplace has cheap frames you can modify.
