Question 🙋🏻 Just curious. What is a bed foundation used for?

Helping my cousin set up his first apartment and he’s got a mattress but no foundation. We started arguing whether it’s actually necessary. What do you think? Does it really matter or is the floor good enough for now? Thanks so much.

foundations aren’t just marketing. They help with airflow, keep the mattress stable, and extend its life. The floor might work short-term but it’s not great long-term.

Makes sense. I figured there had to be more to it than just making the bed taller. I’ll tell him to at least look into a basic platform or slatted frame. Appreciate your input!
