Hey everyone, I’ve been wondering how long do bed foundations typically last? I’ve had mine for about 7–8 years now, and while it’s not falling apart, I noticed that it’s starting to have a bit of creaking and some uneven support under the mattress. It’s a wooden slat foundation, nothing fancy, and I’ve rotated the mattress regularly, but I’m not sure if it’s time for a replacement or if I’m overthinking it.
I’m also planning to upgrade to a latex mattress soon, so I want to make sure the foundation can actually handle it. I’ve read that foam and latex beds need better support, and I’m not sure if my current setup is still up to the job.
How long do your foundations usually last? And is there a noticeable difference once you switch to a newer one? I’d love to hear how others decide when it’s time to replace theirs. Any brand or type you'd recommend that lasts longer?
